June is a busy month for us. Normally, we have a slew of events in September, but with the election happening this fall, we’ll have our final constituency events taking place in June instead. We have events planned in Fort Saskatchewan, Ardrossan, and Sherwood Park. Outings for the whole family, friends, a date night, or by yourself and a great opportunity to connect with me and share your priorities and concerns. There is no cost to participate in any of these events.
We start with a barbecue on Saturday, June 22 from 1-3 p.m. at the Centennial Park picnic site in Sherwood Park. Bring the whole family out for some burgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, and great conversation.
That same evening, starting at 7 p.m. we will be heading out to Headquarters restaurant in Sherwood Park to host a Parliament and Canadian politics trivia night. Do you think you know what happened in the 42nd Parliament? This is a great opportunity to test your political knowledge and win some prizes. Please sign up in advance for this one; you can either enter a team of four, or sign up individually and be matched with others. We will provide light refreshments, and the bar will be open to purchase your own drinks.
As usual, we will also have a series of roundtables at the end of June. Topics will include: “Judicial Independence and the SNC Lavalin Scandal”, “Canola Crisis and Canada’s Relationship with China”, and “State of the Economy and the Energy Sector”. Your input through these roundtables is essential to my ability to represent your priorities. Not all roundtables will be at the main office, some will be in Ardrossan and in Fort Saskatchewan. Call the office for more details on these and to register.
We will also be holding a town hall forum in Fort Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 26, starting at 7 p.m. This will be in the Lion’s Mane room at the Dow Centennial Centre. I will share a few introductory remarks and then it will be over to you to ask me any questions you like. All are welcome, even if you do not live in Fort Saskatchewan. Please RSVP to this one as well. We will take walk-ups if there is space, but first priority will be given to those who register in advance.
To find out more information and to register for these events, or to get in touch about anything else on your mind, please call or email our local office. We can be reached at 780-467-4944, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you call the office, please give a warm welcome to my new assistant Amanda, who just took over from Andrew a month ago.
And you can always find lots of content about local events and about what I’m up to in Ottawa and beyond, by following my Facebook page where I post daily updates with clips from recent speeches, upcoming event announcements, photos, and more.
Have a great summer!
