A trio of people were arrested by Blackfalds and Innisfail RCMP for a vehicle theft Friday, Sept. 28.

Blackfalds RCMP originally received a request to assist in locating a vehicle equipped with On Star, allowing it to be tracked via GPS.

The vehicle was located with the assistance of On Star, however, efforts to pull the vehicle over failed and the driver continued to drive in what police called “a manner dangerous to the public.” The vehicle was once again located by the Innisfail RCMP through On Star, and efforts to pull the car over were ignored by the driver.

The driver attempted to damage police vehicles during the process and was still driving at a very slow speed when Blackfalds and Innisfail RCMP broke the windows of the car to gain access. The driver continued to ignore commands to stop, and as such the three occupants were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without injury or further damage to property.

Caroline Bernice Ohara of Innisfail, remain in custody waiting a bail hearing. She faces several charges, including those relating to the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Steven Robert Carr of Edmonton and Kala Dixon of Red Deer were also arrested, with both in custody and awaiting bail hearings.

Those with information on the incident are asked to contact the Blackfalds RCMP at (403)885-3300 or local police. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-88477, or online at, or by using the “P3 Tips” app.
