Suspended driver stopped

A southern Ontario woman who wasn’t supposed to drive was allegedly found behind the wheel east of Sault Ste. Marie.

A car hit a construction cone and was swerving all over the road on Highway 17 in Township of the North Shore last Friday, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The vehicle was stopped in Blind River.

A female motorist is accused of giving false identification to police.

Cassandra Beckett-Benjamin, 23, of Ajax, was charged with driving while under suspension, personation with intent to avoid arrest and two counts operation while prohibited.

Her court date is Oct. 31 in Blind River.
