Hitchhiker stabbed en route to Lacombe

A 26-year-old male was reportedly stabbed while hitchhiking from Red Deer to Lacombe on Saturday, Aug. 4.
The victim was brought to Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre some time between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. with a minor injury resembling a stab wound. According to Blackfalds RCMP, he said he was picked up by an unknown vehicle with a male driver and female passenger near the Hwy 11A and QEII overpass and shortly afterwards was robbed of his possessions and stabbed.
He then got out of the vehicle and the vehicle drove away.
The victim, described as being approximately six feet tall, caucasian and wearing a black tank top and blue jeans, was treated and is in stable condition.
However, RCMP are seeking witnesses.
