Blackfalds and Red Deer RCMP responded to a break and enter at the Burnt Lake Trail gas station in the early hours of Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019.
Around 3 a.m., two suspects entered the gas station, located just off Hwy 11, and tried to gain access to the ATM inside the store. The suspects were interrupted by a mobile security unit vehicle, which they discharged a firearm at in their escape.
The security officer was no physically injured, however, the suspect vehicle fled northbound on Burnt Lake Trail.
Police are now asking for help in locating the vehicle and the two suspects, which RCMP say should be considered armed and dangerous.
The vehicle is described as a dark Dodge crew cab with chrome running boards, and a white or silver slip tank.
The first suspect is described as being of medium build, and wearing a black face mask and an army green jacket with a camouflage patter on the sleeves, hood and front of the jacket.
The second suspect is described as having a larger build, and wearing a ballcap, and a dark winter coat with a hood.
RCMP ask the public not to engage or approach suspects, should they see the vehicle or know of it or the suspects whereabouts and call local police immediately through 9-1-1.
