Driver collides with moose
A driver sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision with a moose Saturday morning.
Blackfalds RCMP responded to the collision on the QE2 north of Hwy 11A early Dec. 16. According to a release, the incident occurred when a south bound car hit a moose, and caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway and into the west ditch.
The driver was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton area hospital, while the passenger, who suffered non-threatening injuries, was taken to the Red Deer Regional Hospital by ambulance.
Speed and alcohol were not considered factors in the collision.
