LPS Canada Day check stop

On July 1st, 2017, Members of the Lacombe Police Service conducted roadside check stops at various locations in Lacombe as part of the Enhanced Alberta Check Stop Program.


During this 10 hour period, a total of 600 vehicles were stopped and checked.

The results are as follows:

- One (1) offence was identified under the Gaming and Liquor Act.

- Sixteen (16) violation tickets / written warnings were also issued.

The Lacombe Police would like to thank the citizens of Lacombe as well as the thousands of visitors who were in the city to enjoy the Canada Day celebrations for not driving impaired.

"The Canada Day celebrations were enjoyed by all and this Check Stop confirms that the majority of people who attended were doing so responsibly," said Chief Lorne Blumhagen.

The Enhanced Alberta Check stop Program is a joint force operation between the Alberta Government and Alberta Police Services with funding from the province.

During these check stops Police Officers are specifically dedicated to removing impaired drivers from Alberta roads.
