The pain management program at Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre received a generous donation from the Lacombe Lions Club recently. The money will go towards treatment of patients with chronic pain. This is the only pain management program of this type outside of Edmonton and Calgary. The Lacombe Lions Club donated $10,000, with the funds going towards the purchase of four pain management kits. Each kit will be used for minimally invasive nerve burning procedures, which can relieve patients of spine pain. The kits, which contain specialized probes used for the procedure, will replace the aging ones currently in use and can be used to help hundreds of patients.
